Arizona drew the second No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament and were placed in the South bracket against either Bryant or Wright State scheduled for Friday at San Diego.

Bryant (22-9) is the Northeast Conference champ and Wright State (21-13) won the Horizon championship. They will play in the NCAA tournament’s First Four round in Dayton, Ohio, on Wednesday night.

If Arizona (31-3) gets to the second round, it would play the winner of TCU (20-12) or Seton Hall (21-10) next Sunday.

The Sweet 16 and Elite Eight of the South Regional is at San Antonio — site of where Arizona’s women’s team played in the Final Four last season.

The Wildcats, the second-rated No. 1 seed behind Gonzaga, captured the Pac-12 tournament championship on Saturday with a win over UCLA at Las Vegas. They are also the conference’s regular-season champions.

Gonzaga is the No. 1 seed of the West Regional.

Tommy Lloyd is in his first season as Arizona’s head coach. He was a lead assistant under Gonzaga coach Mark Few the previous 20 seasons.
