Nogales beat Mingus Union 10-0 Tuesday at the Salpointe Lancer Baseball Classic held at the Reid Park Annex in Tucson. The game ended in the bottom of the fifth via the run-rule regulation.

Apache pitcher Saul Soto (Pima commit) threw three innings and he picked up 7 strikeouts and gave up one hit in the process. Luis Martin Romero threw the final two innings for Nogales. Demetrio Crisantes went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI and Julio Ramos went 2-2 with triple and an RBI. In all, the Apaches collected 9 hits and walked four times with 13 different batters coming to the plate.

Jan Alvarez pitched for the Marauders and he also picked up a hit in the game along with Ben Behlow and Zach Harrison.

Crisantes is a University of Arizona commit and he garnered the attention of about a dozen pro scouts in the game along with Wildcat head coach Chip Hale who was making the rounds at the complex which is located in the shadow of Arizona’s baseball stadium, Hi Corbett Field. The shortstop remains strong in his college selection and is focusing on his high school season this year but he will have plenty of viable options after the MLB Draft.
