The Southern Arizona Sports, Tourism and Film Authority Bill is making its way through the legislature

Senate Bill 1710 (SB1710) sports; tourism; film authority; appropriation

Passed the Senate 23-6-1 on Feb. 17 and was moved over to the House Appropriation and Rules Committees on March 17.

Establishes the Southern Arizona Sports, Tourism and Film Authority (Authority) consisting of Greenlee, Graham, Cochise, Santa Cruz, Pima and Pinal counties. Outlines requirements for the Authority to issue revenue bonds. Appropriates $500,000 from the state General Fund (state GF) in FY 2023 to the Office of Tourism for funding of the Authority.

Andy was named an Honorary Flowing Wells Caballero in 2019, became a member of the Sunnyside Los Mezquites Cross Country Hall of Fame in 2021 and he was a member of the Amphi COVID-19 Blue Ribbon Committee and he earned a Distinguished Service Award from Amphitheater.
