Arizona’s battery of Daniel Susac and TJ Nichols powered Arizona to an 8-3 series-opening victory over Washington at Seattle on Friday night.

It was Arizona’s first win at Husky Ballpark since 2016. The three-game series resumes Saturday at 2:05 p.m. The Wildcats have not won a series at Washington since 2012.

Susac led Arizona (19-7, 7-3) crushing two home runs and finishing 4-for-5 with six RBIs. It was the seventh multi-home run game of the sophomore’s career.

Defensively at catcher, he also threw out a runner attempting to steal second.

Left fielder Chase Davis also homered against the Huskies, an opposite field blast for his team-leading ninth homer of the season.

Nichols gave the Wildcats seven innings of three-hit work. He allowed three runs and struck out five to earn the win and improve to 4-1.

Right-hander Quinn Flanagan relieved Nichols and held the Huskies (14-11, 5-5) hitless while striking out two over the final two innings.
