The National Football Foundation, Southern Arizona Chapter to recognize six local athletes

The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Southern Arizona Chapter (NFF-CHOF) announced six recipients of a $1,500 scholarship this week.

Canyon del Oro kicker Nikki Basye is one of the six honorees and she is the first female to earn the scholarship. Salpointe standouts Treyson Bourguet and Davian Miranda Carrasco are also recognized along with Brok Determan (Benson), Ryan Fontaine (Pusch Ridge) and Ritchie McCormack (Cienega).

The seniors were judged based on athletic achievement, academic standing and civic leadership. Former Salpointe standout Johnny Peña (2013) will serves as the guest speaker on May 19.
