D-II BOYS TEAM TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP AT PASEO

No. 1 Catalina Foothills 5, No. 3 Estrella Foothills 0

The Catalina Foothills (17-0) boys won the 2022 Division II state championship again Saturday at the Paseo Racquet Center located in Glendale. The top-ranked Falcons defeated No. 3 Estrella Foothills 5-0.

This was the eight straight championship for Catalina Foothills and the 16th overall dating back to 1997. The victory also puts the Falcons in a tie with Tucson High for the most state championships at 16.

Jared Perry won the D-II Singles Championship for the second time and Grant and Austin Cohen won the D-II doubles championship.

The team went 17-0 this year with a set record of 136-2.

Head coach Jeffry Bloomberg picked up his sixth title.
