Arizona’s Sharlize Palacios All-Pac-12 First-Team & All-Defensive Team selection

Four Wildcats were named to the All-Pac-12 teams announced Wednesday by the conference, including catcher Sharlize Palacios as a first-team selection. She was also a Pac-12 All-Defensive Team selection.

Allie Skaggs was selected to the second-team and Jasmine Perezchica was named third-team. Paige Dimler was selected to the All-Freshmen team and Palacios was named to the All-Defense team.

Palacios is fifth in the Pac-12 with 16 home runs and ranks second in the conference with 54 RBIs. Her .717 slugging percentage and .453 on-base percentage ranks 12th in the Pac-12. Palacios has drawn 30 walks this season, third most in the Pac-12, and has reached base safely in 38 games. Behind the plate, Palacios has made 193 putouts with a .987 fielding percentage.

Skaggs was being named Pac-12 Player of the Week twice this season and also earned a National Player of the Week nod from Extra Inning Softball. She leads the team and is second in the Pac-12 with 21 home runs, including two grand slams. Skaggs is second in the Pac-12 with 54 RBI and ranks fourth with a .836 slugging percentage. She is ninth with a .462 on-base percentage and 11th in the Pac-12 with a .377 batting average. Skaggs is second on the team and ninth in the Pac-12 with 23 walks drawn and has scored 43 runs, fourth most in the Pac-12. Skaggs etched her name into the Arizona record books when she hit three home runs in a single game, joining Wildcat legends such as Jessie Harper, Katiyana Mauga, Stacie Chambers, and Jenny Dalton-Hill.

Perezchica is a third-team all-conference selection for the first time in her career. She is leading the team and is fifth in the conference with a .406 batting average. She is third on the team and eighth in the Pac-12 with 41 runs scored and has stolen 10 bases in 13 attempts.

Dimler is hitting .316 with 10 home runs and 25 RBIs as a freshman. Among conference freshman, Dimler is second in home runs and fourth in RBI. This season, she earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors and was also named a D1 Softball National Freshman of the Week honoree.
