Sunnyside football coach Glenn Posey, whose father passed away in recent months, announced his retirement on social media on Thursday mentioning it is a move “to take care of myself and my family.”
“Blue Devils, friends and family I am officially retired,” Posey wrote. ”After 32 years of coaching, I have decided to take a step back. Losing my father has been very difficult. I need to take care of myself and my family.”
Posey, a 1987 Sunnyside graduate, coached his alma mater in two separate stints — 2011 to 2015 and 2019 through 2021. He also coached Flowing Wells in 2000 and 2001.
He has also served as an assistant at Sunnyside and Pima College.
His 10-year head coaching career record is 53-43.
