FC Tucson Women move to 3-0 after beating Las Vegas 1-0 on the road

FC Tucson Women move to 3-0 on the year beating Atomic City FC 1-0 in Las Vegas Saturday night. The victory gives Tucson 9 points on the year with the Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club right behind with 6 points after defeating El Paso Surf 1-0 on the road.

SC del Sol (1-0) plays Las Vegas (0-2) Sunday night. Dating back to the 2019 season, FC Tucson Women is 16-0-1.

Former Catalina Foothills and current Pima forward Caitlyn Maher scored in the 39th minute off of a 40-yard pass from Haley Harris that she took up the side by herself for about 25 yards before scoring past the goalie on a double kick.

Unofficially, Tucson came away with nine shots to five for Las Vegas with former Salpointe keeper Maddie Smith coming away with game-saver in the final moments.

FC Tucson Women will travel to Mesa on Friday night to play Arizona Arsenal at 7 p.m. The match will be played at Bell Bank Park. The team will return home on Sunday, June 19 to face SC del Sol. This will be the toughest weekend for Tucson and it will start a three-match home stand.
