Two tough matches coming up for FC Tucson Women

(Andy Morales/AllSportsTucson)

FC Tucson Women moved to 3-0 on the year holding off Atomic City FC 1-0 last Saturday night in Las Vegas on a goal from Caitlyn Maher in the 39th minute of play. Maher took a deep 40-yard pass from Haley Harris and she took it the rest of the way for the lone goal.

Tucson stands alone at the top of the Desert Conference standings with nine points and the Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club is next with a 2-0 record and six points. The new WPSL program will host Tucson Friday night at the Bell Bank Park in Mesa at 7 p.m. in a very important match in the league.

Las Vegas (1-2) offered some assistance to Tucson with a 2-1 win over SC del Sol last Sunday to drop the team from Phoenix to 1-1 this summer. Tucson will host SC del Sol on Sunday night at 7 at the Kino North Stadium.
