Sunnyside took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning after Ozzie Guadarrama reached on an infield error and Nathan Governale brought him in later in the inning. That lead help up until the top of the third mainly due to the pitching of Carlo Rivero who struck out the first five Rincon batters he faced.
Raelynn Tanori stopped that streak with a leadoff walk in the third inning and she reached third on a passed ball where Calvin Williams brought her in on a single two outs later to tie the game up 1-1. Rincon took the lead for good after Braxton Sapp tripled in the fourth and Bryce Brown reached on an error. Both runners scored on passed balls to make it 3-1. Rivero ended the night with nine strikeouts in four innings of work for Sunnyside with no earned runs.

Meanwhile, Rincon starting pitcher Caleb King went the distance, scattering three hits with no earned runs and five more runs by Rincon in the top of the fifth really took the pressure of his shoulders down the stretch.
Richie Cantabrana came up with a pinch-hit double in that inning that scored two runs. Nathan Ventura added an RBI and Brown singled. Santiago Zepeda ended the game for Sunnyside and he shutdown the last four batters he faced.
