GAME SUMMARY: Raun Trejo scored two touchdowns and Zack Mayberry had another completing St. David’s 9-1 with the victory over previously unbeaten Fredonia (9-1). The Tigers won their first title since topping Fredonia in the 1972 championship.

Trejo, a 5-foot-9, 145-pound halfback, opened the scoring with a 70-yard punt return in the first period. He scored his second touchdown with less than a minute remaining in the first half on a 44-yard pass from Tom Behr that put St. David ahead 14-6.

Mayberry scored on a 73-yard touchdown run in the third period. The Tigers’ last points came on a safety in the fourth quarter.

DID YOU KNOW: Trejo went on to earn a degree at Arizona and has served as the senior procurement manager for Infineon Technologies, an Austin-based semiconductor operations company he has worked for the last 25 years.
