FC Tucson Women (3-1-2) travels to Phoenix tonight to take on SC del Sol (5-1-1) for what amounts to the championship of the WPSL Desert Conference. SC del Sol is currently on top of the standings on points but a victory for Tucson would give the club the same 16 points and the head-to-head tiebreaker over Phoenix.
The two clubs played to a draw in June and a victory by Tucson Saturday night comes with the added 2 points awarded via the canceled match with Atomic City FC per WPSL rules. In addition, Arizona Arsenal Club fell to 4-2-2 on the year after the team from Mesa played to a 1-1 draw at Atomic City in Las Vegas Friday night. This was the scenario Tucson needed to control their own destiny once again with Arsenal sitting at 14 points.
The deciding match tonight takes place at the Reach 11 Complex at 7 p.m.
