Willcox All-Star pitcher Hattie Macumber continued her remarkable dominance, throwing her fifth no-hitter of the postseason on Tuesday night in a winner’s bracket game against Thornydale of the state tournament at Sierra Vista.
Willcox advances to Wednesday’s semifinal against Cave Creek Cactus Foothills at 7:30 p.m.
Thornydale will play Queen Creek in an elimination-bracket game Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
Macumber struck out the first three batters she faced. She finished with 10 strikeouts and three walks. She has 73 strikeouts in six postseason games according to the Cochise County Herald/Review.
