Andrew Cain batted .536 with 20 RBIs with Ironwood Ridge last spring and the senior-to-be committed to play for the University of Arizona Sunday afternoon three weeks after withdrawing his commitment to play for Washington State.

Cain (6-3, 190) is primarily a third baseman with experience in the middle infield and on the mound.

“I built a good relationship with Coach Hale and the rest of the coaches and that’s something very important to me,” Cain told AllSportsTucson. “It’s always been a dream of mine to be able to play baseball for Arizona. Coach Hale and the rest of the coaching staff are going to do great things and I can’t wait to be apart of it!”

His Nighthawk teammate, catcher Nicholas Warren, will be a freshman with the Wildcats this year.
