The Pima Community College men’s soccer team came into the regular season as the top-ranked team in the country and the defending NJCAA Division II National Champions did not disappoint in the season opener against Glendale.
Taichi Yamada scored in the 46th minute on an assist from former Ironwood Ridge standout Emerson Ram, former San Miguel standout Andres Gutierrez-Rembao put the Aztecs up 2-0 on a goal in the 65th and Ram assisted Nicolas Bianchi in the 89th for the 3-0 win. Cristian Sattin picked up six saves in the goal.
Pima will play at Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a non-conference game.
