
CDO senior Alina Nuñez has reached 1,141 kills in her four-year varsity career, eclipsing the 1,000-kill mark in October.
Her performance in the month that included 204 kills and six victories for the Dorados merits her the Jet Sports Training Female Athlete of the Month for October.
The No. 4-seeded Dorados host No. 5 Arcadia on Tuesday in a 4A quarterfinals match.
Nuñez has joined the local 1,000-kill club with these former standouts — Tucson’s Mia Sokolowski (1,514), Catalina Foothills’ Lauren Rumel (1,237), Tanque Verde’s Ainsley Malis (1,104), Cienega’s Stephanie Mendivil (1,100) and Ironwood Ridge’s Aunesty Jantz (1,067).
