PODCAST: Interview with Walden Grove football coach Corey Noble


Walden Grove coach Corey Noble has the Red Wolves in position to make the 4A state playoffs

Although Walden Grove has won six straight games by an average of 27.2 points to improve to 7-2 overall, the Red Wolves are presently out of playoff contention in 4A rated No. 17.

The top 16 teams get into the playoffs, which begin next week.

Walden Grove (4-0 in the 4A Gila) could play its way back into the top 16 by beating a hot Catalina Foothills team that is rated No. 20, has won all four of its region games and is 6-3 overall.

The Red Wolves and Falcons will have showdown for the region title on Friday night at 7 p.m. at Walden Grove.

Walden Grove coach Corey Noble, who is 40-18 in his sixth season as the Red Wolves’ head coach, joined AllSportsTucson.com for its latest podcast. Topics discussed: his background, the performance of his team and the topic of AIA’s playoff structure and how it should be altered to guarantee region champions to be part of the playoff field.
