Williams Field coach: Steve Campbell (145-37, 15th year with the Black Hawks and 169-57 in his 19th year overall).

Salpointe coach: Eric Rogers (24-8, third year and overall with the Lancers).

When Williams Field has the ball:

Run percentage: 74.5 percent (382 rushes)

Pass percentage: 25.5 percent (131 passes)

Williams Field, coming off its first losing record in the regular season under 15-year coach Steve Campbell (former ASU QB), is a predominantly running team although QB Travis Ebner has passed for 1,003 yards while completing 60 of 125 attempts with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. … RB Dylan Lee has gained 1,528 yards on 205 carries with 19 touchdowns and RB Joshua Dye is at 566 yards rushing on 124 rushes with seven touchdowns. … When Williams Field lost 31-14 at Salpointe on Oct. 21 in a 6A East Valley game, Ebner passed for only 51 yards and Dye had 109 yards on 22 carries with a touchdown while Lee was limited to 41 yards on 12 rushes. … WR Austin Vincent has 31 catches for 742 yards with four touchdowns. He had only two catches for 45 yards in the previous game against the Lancers. … Salpointe’s front seven is formidable with LB Orlando Gonzalez registering a team-high 78 tackles, six for loss, and DE Elijah Rushing tallying 60 tackles with 11.5 for loss. Rushing has 10.5 sacks with an impressive 58 quarterback hurries.

When Salpointe has the ball:

Run percentage: 46.5 percent (226 rushes)

Pass percentage: 53.5 percent (260 passes)

Life without QB Treyson Bourguet, now at Western Michigan, was a little rocky at first but QB Fredo Sotelo has solidified his role as the starter at the position completing 118 of 196 attempts for 1,604 yards with 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Sotelo is also a threat to run the ball, tallying 289 yards on 47 carries with six touchdowns. … Salpointe has used RB Elias Roberts (482 yards on 89 carries with four touchdowns) and RB Dailan Goodman (428 yards on 79 rushes with six touchdowns) equally. … WR Gage Felix (38 catches for 571 yards with three touchdowns) is the top target. … Williams Field’s defensive coordinator is former Arizona CB Kelvin Hunter and defensive assistant Kirk Johnson is also a former linebacker with the Wildcats. … Dye is also the Black Hawks’ leading tackler with 68. LB Breck Mullins has 66 tackles with nine for loss (five of them sacks).

Common opponents

Scottsdale Chaparral — Salpointe lost to the Firebirds 23-20 in overtime on the road to start the season while Williams Field beat them at home 49-28 in Week 2.

Mesa Mountain VIew — Williams Field beat the Toros 31-14 on the road Oct. 14 and Salpointe defeated them 26-0 at home Nov. 4.

Red Mountain — Salpointe lost 27-24 at Red Mountain on Oct. 14 and Williams Field beat the Mountain Lions 28-7 at home 28-7 on Oct. 28.

Queen Creek — Williams Field won at home 28-21 against the Bulldogs on Nov. 4 while the Lancers lost at Queen Creek 12-6 on Nov. 10.

Series record

The first meeting between the schools was in the 6A East Valley matchup won by Salpointe 31-14 at home Oct. 21.
