Sunnyside’s first attempt hosting a basketball tournament was a success, ending with the Blue Devils playing Poston Butte close throughout the championship Wednesday before succumbing to the Broncos 40-32.

Poston Butte (4-0) was led by Helena and Adriana Bachman and Kilah Fowler — all of whom were selected to the Inferno Invitational All-Tournament Team by participating coaches.
Sunnyside’s Nayeli Nidez-Acuña and Gabi Delgado (daughter of coach Justin Delgado) were also on the all-tournament team.
Also selected: McKenna Mathie of Mica Mountain, Jordyn Decker of Rincon/University and Kloah Ulberg of Snowflake.
Sunnyside (3-1) next plays at rival Desert View on Monday at 7 p.m.
