Roster includes:

  • Isaiah Hill, Jr., 5-10, G, 3V
  • Jacob Maya, Jr., 5-11, G, 1V
  • Jorge Franco, Jr., 6-2, F, 2V

Noteworthy: Isaiah Hill is on pace to reach 1,000 points this year. He is at 561 after scoring 461 last year while averaging 24.5 points a game. … Jones mentioned he expects “big minutes” from freshman guard Carranza this season and that Maya, Ngang and Skinner are looking to have a “breakout year.” … Jones is a former Tucson High School coach who was hired at Sabino but left that position before coaching there to help coach the Southern Arizona Volunteers Prep team. He returned to TUSD last season to coach at Pueblo.

Coach’s comment: “Our team has one goal — state championship. They know that it’s very difficult to accomplish that goal. We will be looking to get our post involved more. Javi Larreta and Jorge Franco bring the energy for us. Isaiah Marrufo has a defensive mindset. We are looking to compete in our region, but also looking to sneak into the Open Division.”
