He moved to Tucson from Pennsylvania. … Longtime coach Ben Hurley resigned after last season to help coach the Salpointe basketball team, which includes his daughter Caitlin, a freshman. The elder Hurley is still a physical education teacher at Amphi. … Amphi is off to a 6-1 start behind Kevin Quintero’s 17 points and 5.3 rebounds a game and Trey Lyle contributing 14 points and 4.7 rebounds a game. … Quintero is coming off a football season as a receiver in which he rushed for 340 yards on 44 carries and produced 610 yards on 36 catches.
