Salpointe distance runner Kylie Wild completed her high school career with eight individual state championships to go along with her two team championships in Cross Country (2020) and Track and Field (2022). She was unable to compete in Track and Field in 2020 due to the stoppage of sports from COVID. Wild also has one runner-up finish in her career and she will be running for Boston College.
Salpointe swimmer Tyler Driscoll finished her career with seven individual state championships, putting her in an elite class with only three girls (8: Erin Bleyl, Pusch Ridge and 7: Hope Peterson, Pusch Ridge) to collect seven or more championships since 2001. Driscoll will be swimming for NC State.
The big numbers from team championships includes 35 state Wrestling titles for Sunnyside, 16 team Tennis titles for the Catalina Foothills boys and girls, nine team Soccer titles for the Salpointe boys and girls, nine Baseball championship for Canyon del Oro, six Softball titles for Salpointe and five Softball championships for Sabino.

Named one of “Arizona’s Heart & Sol” by KOLD and Casino del Sol, Andy Morales was recognized by the AIA as the top high school reporter in 2014, he was awarded the Ray McNally Award in 2017 and a 2019 AZ Education News recognition. He was a youth, high school and college coach for over 30 years. He was the first in Arizona to write about high school beach volleyball and high school girls wrestling and his unique perspective can only be found here and on AZPreps365.com. Andy is a Southern Arizona voting member of the Ed Doherty Award, recognizing the top football player in Arizona, and he was named a Local Hero by the Tucson Weekly for 2016. Andy was named an Honorary Flowing Wells Caballero in 2019, became a member of the Sunnyside Los Mezquites Cross Country Hall of Fame in 2021 and he was a member of the Amphi COVID-19 Blue Ribbon Committee.
