Registration for new City of Tucson Women’s Fastpitch League is coming up

The St. Mary’s Belles. The Sunshine Girls. The Convair Queens. The Twenty-Second Street Flirts. There was a time when the City of Tucson had one of the hottest softball leagues for women in the Southwest and former University of Arizona legend Stacy Iveson is attempting to bring some of that magic back in her new role as a Program Coordinator for Tucson.

“As you know, fastpitch softball has quite a history in Tucson for both men and women,” Iveson said. “I thought this could be a cool jumping off point for a little walk down memory lane when fastpitch was super huge here.”

Iveson retired from her position with the Wildcats last year and she has been instrumental in setting up registration for two new leagues in the city.

“Teams will be split into two divisions, a recreational league as well as a competitive league,” Iveson added. “Games will be played at Lincoln Park Julie Reitan Softball Complex beginning May 30 and will run through July 25.  Registration will begin April 17-May 15. You can sign up online at ezeereg.com or by calling the sports office at 520-791-4870.”
