Catalina Foothills is off to a 12-1-1 start (7-0 as recognized by the AIA) and a driving force behind the strong start is senior left-hander Ethan Bell.

The Falcons are ranked No. 2 among 5A teams in the state. The AIA does not recognize in-season tournament games as part of a team’s overall record.

Bell, 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, is 2-0 with a 0.97 ERA in 29 innings. He has 26 strikeouts with only five walks and 20 hits allowed.

In the month of March, he went 2-0 and allowed only two earned runs in 19 innings — a 0.74 ERA. He struck out 17 and walked two. He allowed 16 hits, none for extra bases.

The performance merits Bell the Jet Sports Training Male Athlete of the Month for March.
