Southern Arizona Coaches Senior High School Girls & Boys All-Star Games at Pima

The first of what will hopefully be a run of yearly senior all-star basketball games featuring Southern Arizona high school talent will take place Saturday at Pima College’s West Gym.

The Southern Arizona Coaches Senior High School Girls and Boys All-Star Games, created with the assistance of head coaches in this area, is the first of its kind around here since Pima coach Brian Peabody organized a boys senior high school all-star game in 2019.

Tipoff for the girls game is at noon and the boys will start at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students who show ID.

Peabody contacted AllSportsTucson.com for support organizing the event. He took on communicating with coaches of boys team and I reached out to coaches of girls teams.

We managed to develop games that will include nearly 40 senior boys and girls.

AllSportsTucson.com is committed to its theme of being “Community Driven.” Its involvement in this game stays true to that idea, with the sole intent to continue highlighting our youth.

This is not a showcase game or one that is bent on drawing college recruiters, although it is beneficial for some of the players not committed to a college yet to have the honor of being chosen for this game.

No guesswork is involved developing the teams. The local coaches contributed entirely. They suggested the players. Peabody and I did the legwork contacting many of them.
