Tucson lost to Texas 6-2 in American Legion action; Randolph to open up Junior West Region play on Thursday

Tucson lost to League City, Texas 6-2 Wednesday morning to open up bracket play at the American Legion West Regional taking place in Fairfield, California. Tucson Post 7 moves over to the elimination bracket where the team will face Albuquerque at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning. If Tucson wins that game, it will play next on Friday at 4 p.m. in another elimination game. Albuquerque lost to Yuba City, California 13-2 Wednesday afternoon.

Tucson took a 1-0 lead in the second inning after Sebastian Pino doubled and Jorge Castro singled him in but Texas scored three runs in the bottom of the third and three more in the bottom of the sixth to take a 6-1 lead. Gennaro Brito doubled in the top of the seventh and he would later score on a wild pitch but that was it for Tucson. Victor Hernandez took the mound for Tucson.
