Randolph beat Idaho 15-8 to stay alive at the Junior West Regionals

Randolph beat Idaho 15-8 Saturday morning in an elimination game at the Junior League West Regional taking place in Bend, Ore. Representing local District 12 and the state of Arizona, Randolph (1-1) will play next on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. against Butte, Mont. (2-1) in another elimination game. Montana beat Utah 22-10 Saturday morning to set up the game with Randolph on Sunday.

Randolph took a 4-1 lead after the first inning but Idaho tied it up in the bottom of the third. Randolph went up 7-4 in the top of the fourth but Idaho came right back and scored three runs to cut the lead down to 8-7. Randolph slowly pulled away from there with two runs in the fifth, three in the sixth and two more in the seventh with Idaho scoring one run in their half of the seventh for the 15-8 final.

Gabriel Leon led Randolph at the plate, going 3 for 4 with three RBIs. Aiden Camargo went 2-2 with a double and two RBIs and Cesar Hernandez went 2-3 with and RBI. Marlon Sanchez picked up seven strikeouts and Leon added four more. Randolph only gave up two earned runs.
