The Pima Community College Athletics department announced its Hall of Fame Class of 2023 on Wednesday. Included in this esteemed group is one of the founders of AllSportsTucson, my brother Javier Morales.
Javier is an Arizona Press Club award winner and he is a former Arizona Daily Star beat reporter for the Arizona basketball team, including when the Wildcats won the 1996-97 NCAA title. His articles have appeared in CollegeAD.com, Bleacher Report, Lindy’s Sports, TucsonCitizen.com, The Arizona Republic, Sporting News and Baseball America, among many other publications.
“I share this honor of being inducted into the Pima Community College Athletic Hall of Fame with my family, which has a very meaningful background with the institution,” Javier said. “Our father was a close friend and associate with former athletic director Larry Toledo, our brother Hector earned his associate degree from Pima and my brother Andy has contributed greatly to AllSportsTucson.com’s coverage of the Aztecs. The school gives students in Southern Arizona a substantial avenue to a quality higher education, which we are all very grateful about. To be honored by Pima knowing all this makes this induction all the more greater. I am very thankful.”
