Sunnyside’s boys soccer team moves up to No. 25 in nation in MaxPreps poll

Sunnyside’s 7-0 boys soccer team is now rated No. 25 in the nation by MaxPreps, advancing 20 spots since the last release of the poll a week ago.

The Blue Devils are coming off last week’s Brandon Bean Invitational championship in which it won all five games, including a 3-1 win over Tucson High in the championship.

Sunnyside coach Casey O’Brien has a team loaded with quality juniors.

Three of them top the Blue Devils in points:

Angel Bracamontes Pulido (11 goals and seven assists for 29 points)

Johan Jimenez (nine goals and five assists for 23 points)

Aaron Abarca (seven goals and four assists for 18 points)

Armando Alvizar, a senior, also has 18 points with seven goals and four assists.

Sunnyside next plays at Phoenix Carl Hayden (2-1) on Tuesday.
