Dillan Baker and Rylei Waugh named ACCAC D-II Players of the Week

Former Salpointe standout Dillan Baker was named the ACCAC D-II Men’s Player of the Week for the second consecutive week and third time this season for Pima. Baker scored 27 points in a win over Scottsdale on Wednesday, connecting on 7 of 9 from the 3-point line. The sophomore finished the week with 12 points in an Aztecs’ road win over Cochise on Saturday.

Pima standout Rylei Waugh (Westchester, CA) played in 70 of the Aztecs’ 80 minutes last week, scoring 32 points and grabbing nine rebounds. The freshman scored 19 points and hauled in eight rebounds in a win at Scottsdale and ended the week with 13 points in 35 minutes in a road loss at Cochise. Waugh was named the ACCAC D-II Women’s Basketball Player of the Week three times this season.

This list will be updated all year in an effort to recognize all former local prep stars who have gone on to win either academic and/or athletic awards at the next level. These are not high school awards but collegiate and professional recognitions. NOT CHAMPIONSHIPS.
