Anissa Jacquez scored 16 points and her younger sister Emelynn Jacquez added 11 to lead No. 1 St. David to its first state championship since 1991-92 with a 49-39 win over Joseph City on Saturday at Prescott.
Anissa Jacquez is a senior standout while Emelynn is an emerging sophomore.
St. David, which avenged last year’s semifinal loss to Joseph City, finishes the season 29-2. The Tigers ended the season winning nine consecutive games.
Mayla Trejo added eight points for St. David with all the points coming in her 4-of-6 shooting late in the game.
Joseph City ended its season 28-8.
