The Pima Community College men’s basketball team earned its ninth straight win on Wednesday as it led from start to finish against Phoenix College in a 122-81 victory.
The No. 14 Aztecs (23-3, 15-3 in ACCAC) surpassed 100 points for the 16th time this season in the rout of the Bears (2-24, 2-16).
Pima led 48-36 before closing out the first half on a 13-0 run to take a 61-36 advantage at the break.
Up 69-44, the Aztecs outscored Phoenis 21-6 to make it 90-50. They led by as much as 44 points late in the second half.
Pima had seven players score in double figures and got 57 points from the bench.
Freshmen Cohenj Gonzales and Wes Ball (Marana) each scored a game-high 19 points.
Gonzales added four assists while Ball went 7 for 8 from the field and 5 for 5 from the foul line with five rebounds, two assists and one block off the bench.
Sophomore Dillan Baker (Salpointe) went 6-for-8 shooting and 2 for 3 from three-point range as he finished with 17 points, to go with four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Sophomore Jaylen Alexander added 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting.
Freshman Gabe Oldham closed it out with 10 points, nine rebounds and three assists while sophomore Yahir Garcia (Tucson) posted 10 points after going 3 for 5 from beyond the arc off the bench. Sophomore Toate Sika (Rincon/University) also contributed with 10 points off the bench.
The Aztecs are back at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium for the fourth straight game on Saturday as they play Glendale. Tipoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
