Game 1: Pima 10, Eastern Arizona 1 (5 innings)

The Aztecs (19-8, 6-2 in ACCAC) handed the Gila Monsters (13-7, 8-2) their first ACCAC loss as the Pima offense got going in the early innings to earn the run-rule victory.

Martin reached on an error and freshman Aubrey Marx (Cienega) hit a single to start the game.

Zepeda hit her first home run on an 0-1 count as she went to center field to put the Aztecs up 3-0.

Waddell followed with a solo homer of her own to make it 4-0.  Freshman Alyssa Noriega (Pueblo) capped off the first inning with an RBI double to bring around Tsosie-Hood.

It was déjà vu in the second inning as Martin and Marx reached base and Zepeda hit her second three-run home run, this time going to left field on a 1-1 count to increase the lead to 8-0.

Sophomore Mallory Zylinski-Wrobel added to Pima’s lead with an RBI double to drive in sophomore Mina Chacon (Tucson).

The top three hitters in the lineup — Martin, Marx and Zepeda — combined to go 7 for 9 with seven RBIs and seven runs. Zepeda hit an RBI single in the third inning as she finished the game 3 for 3 with seven RBIs and two runs. Martin went 2 for 3 with three runs while Marx was 2 for 3 with two runs. Waddell finished 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run. Noriega went 1 for 3 with an RBI and Zylinski-Wrobel was 1 for 2 with an RBI.

Tsosie-Hood finished 1 for 3 with an RBI but also pitched all five innings, giving up one run (one earned) on three hits with three strikeouts on 46 pitches.

Game 2: Pima 3, Eastern Arizona 0:

Waddell tossed a complete-game shutout as she gave up five hits with seven strikeouts and two walks on 87 pitches.

The Aztecs got on the board in the second inning when Martin hit an RBI single to score Noriega, who led off the inning with a single.

Zepeda led off the third inning with a single and scored on a stolen base to home plate to put the score at 2-0.

Freshman Yanelyssia Chavez (Salpointe Catholic) produced an RBI single in the fifth inning as she scored freshman Marina Price (Rincon/University).

Martin finished the game 1 for 3 with an RBI while Zepeda went 1 for 3 with an RBI. Price was 1 for 2 with two runs and Chavez finished 1 for 1 with an RBI.
