The Second Annual Senior Appreciation All-Star Girls and Boys Games are Saturday at Pima’s West Gym starting at 2 p.m. with the girls’ game.
The boys’ game will follow at 4.
Organizers were able to gather approximately 40 athletes for the event, which began last year.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students with ID.
We hope this will grow each year into an event that is much anticipated by the community.
I want to make this clear — this is not a recruiting showcase. It’s not intended to have college coaches attend for potential prospects. Some of the players have already made their college plans. For others, this will be their last opportunity to play in front of a crowd as they conclude their high school careers.
Hence, the word “appreciation” added to the event.

Members of the Pima men’s basketball team will serve as coaches of the games.
