The dawn of the Brent Brennan and Big 12 era with Arizona football is upon us.
Arizona will kick off the season on Aug. 31 when the Wildcats will represent the Big 12 for the first time playing New Mexico at Arizona Stadium.
The Wildcats are coming off a 10-3 season, capped by a victory over Oklahoma in the Alamo Bowl. Jedd Fisch is gone to Washington and Brennan, a former Dick Tomey grad assistant at Arizona, is here from San Jose State.
The top Arizona players in history who wore the corresponding number to the day of the countdown will be honored.
We’ll also run other items related to today’s player who wears the uniform number and other pertinent numbers and news related to Wildcat football.

NOTE
Brennan’s career record in seven years at San Jose State was 34-48 with trips to three bowl games — 2020 Arizona Bowl (lost to Ball State 34-13), 2022 Famous Potato Idaho Bowl (lost to Eastern Michigan 41-27) and 2023 Hawaii Bowl (lost to Coastal Carolina 24-14). San Jose State went to only three bowls in the previous 30 years before Brennan’s arrival in 2017.
THEY SAID IT
“We’ll take about a month off before we come back in June. Right when we get back we’ll get into summer workouts and player-led practices. It’s a collaborative effort.” — Arizona QB Noah Fifita after the Wildcats’ Spring Game on April 28.
