Allie Skaggs signs with Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball

Allie Skaggs, one of the most accomplished second basemen in Arizona softball history, will continue her playing career this summer with Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball.

AU announced Wednesday morning that Skaggs will join the league for its five weeks of competition at Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, Ill., starting July 26.

Skaggs, a Class of 2020 Ironwood Ridge graduate and Tucson native, is one of 60 players who will participate.

She will join former Arizona pitchers Alyssa Denham and Taylor McQuillin. Former Arizona catcher Sharlize Palacios, who completed her career at UCLA, is also in the league.

SKAGGS ARIZONA CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

  • Started all of Arizona’s 61 games as a sophomore at second base and led the team with 24 home runs
  • Started all 54 of Arizona’s games in 2023 and all 56 of Arizona’s games in 2024 at second base
  • Earned the Rawlings Gold Glove Award and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2023 after committing zero errors in 168 chances for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage at second base
  • Became the first Wildcat since 2009 to hit eight home runs in seven games in 2022
  • Tied the Arizona single game record with three home runs vs. UTEP in 2023
  • Hit seven grand slams during her career; two her sophomore season, four her junior year, and one her senior year
  • Has hit 57 career home runs to rank 13th in program history
