Former Arizona reliever Trevor Long experienced his first outing in professional baseball, pitching an inning with Single-A Modesto (Calif.) of the Seattle Mariners organization. He pitched a hitless inning with a walk in Modesto’s 16-3 loss to Visalia (Calif.) of the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. That game featured two other players with Southern Arizona ties — Modesto right-handed reliever German Fajardo and Visalia shortstop Demetrio Crisantes (both Nogales High alums).
