Mary L. Hines (April 27, 1929 – November 19, 2022) led Catalina to the first “Big School” championship in Southern Arizona history in 1972. She won two state championships and earned two runner-up finishes.
Don Arnold Roylance (October 21, 1942 – March 4, 2018) led St. David to the first “Small School” championship for Southern Arizona that same year. St. David leads Southern Arizona with nine state championships and nine runner-up finishes.
