Sabino senior Chase Pickering shot a 1-over-par 37 to beat the field by two strokes on Tuesday at the Golf Club at Dove Mountain. The Sabercats (162) beat Mica Mountain (170) and Ironwood Ridge (178).

Pickering took 16th at the Division II state championship last fall and Ironwood Ridge won the team championship.
