Saturday night marks the start of a lot of things — a new season, the Brent Brennan Era, dawn of longtime coaches Duana Akina and Dino Babers as coordinators, first season in the Big 12, Tetairoa McMillan’s unanimous All-American campaign and Noah Fifita’s Heisman watch. Will make Fifita and/or McMillan make the trip to New York City at season’s end as contenders for college football’s most coveted award?

THEY SAID IT

“I’m not an individual award guy, but I would be lying if I said that I didn’t grow up dreaming about the Heisman Trophy. I think every little kid dreams about that. So to be in the same sentence, to be in that conversation is a blessing.” — Fifita to ESPN.com
