BRANDON BEAN INVITATIONAL
Salpointe Catholic: Dec. 2-6
The Brandon Bean Invitational is held every year to honor a former Salpointe player who passed away in 1992 after an on-field collision at a soccer scrimmage. In addition, the tournament also honors former Salpointe girl’s player Laura Kea who died in an auto accident on her way to a soccer tournament.
The Salpointe boys went 5-0 including a 2-0 win over Sunnyside in the championship match Friday night and the Salpointe girls also went 5-0 with a 1-0 win over Buena in the championship final.
The top Brandon Bean Keepers were Adelina Ortega of Buena and Garrett Griffin of Salpointe and the top Lura Kea Field Players were Emma Veliz of Salpointe and Angel Bracamontes of Sunnyside.
