Sunnyside senior Manny Moreno, one of the top scorers in the state, eclipsed 1,000 points in his career after producing 36 points Friday against visiting Rincon/University.
Moreno, in his third season at the varsity level, is now at 1,010 points.
A 6-foot and 158-pound guard, Moreno is averaging 22.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
He has 594 points this season, which is more than his two previous years combined (416 points).
Sunnyside will conclude its season Tuesday at Amphi.
