Arizona is still alive in the postseason, playing in the WBIT — an NCAA-sanctioned event in its second year — and will have a rematch against Northern Arizona on Thursday at 6 p.m. at McKale Center.
The game will be televised live on ESPN+.
NAU (26-7) defeated Arizona 92-75 in Flagstaff on Nov. 20. Arizona starting point guard Jada Williams was not with the team that night because of concussion protocol.
Arizona’s five-game winning streak against NAU was snapped after the Wildcats blew a 16-point lead in the first half. It was also the Wildcats’ first loss of the season after starting 5-0.

Arizona (19-13) is in the postseason for the sixth consecutive season under Adia Barnes, who coached her alma mater to the WNIT championship in 2018-19.
The format of the WBIT is different than the WNIT with the semifinals and championship held at the Hinkle Fieldhouse at Indianapolis, Ind., on March 31 and April 1.
When Arizona won the WNIT in 2019, it hosted every game, including the championship win over Northwestern.
NAU won eight consecutive games before losing in the second round of the Big Sky tournament against Montana at Boise, Idaho, on March 11.
The Lumberjacks broke the program’s regular-season wins record and finished with their best Big Sky record at 16-2.
If Arizona defeats NAU, it will host No. 3 Belmont or Middle Tennessee on Sunday.
Colorado, which eliminated Arizona in the Big 12 tournament last week, is a No. 1 seed and will host Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday.
Longtime Pac-12 foe Stanford, which beat Arizona in the 2021 NCAA championship game, is a No. 2 seed that will host Portland on Thursday.
