The St. David Tigers advanced to Monday’s 1A state championship game. The Tigers will face No. 1 Joseph City Monday at 3 p.m. at Farrington Stadium. St. David trailed Williams 3-1 going into the bottom of the fifth when the Tigers scored two runs to tie the game. St. David again tied the game at 4 in the bottom half of the inning when Jasmine Wise doubled and scored Emelynn Jacquez. With two outs, Camber Jacquez hit a pop fly that Williams dropped for an error, scoring Wise with the game-winning run. St. David has won 14 consecutive games. The Tigers are looking for their first state title in their third appearance (lost to Bagdad in 2011 and Mogollon in 2004).
