The Houston Astros optioned former Sahuaro and Arizona catcher César Salazar to Triple-A Sugar Land (Texas) and placed infielder Isaac Paredes on the 10-day injured list due to a right hamstring strain. Infielder Shay Whitcomb was recalled and first baseman Jon Singleton was selected from Sugar Land. Infielder Brendan Rodgers was also placed on the 60-day injured list. Salazar had only one at-bat this month. He has been the Astros’ third catcher the last couple of months. He will get more swings at Triple-A.
