
The Pima Community College men’s basketball team scored its highest point total this season on Wednesday in a 170-47 victory over the Park University junior varsity team at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium.
The No. 3 Aztecs (4-0) won by 123 points behind a team-high 26 points from sophomore Mason Hunt, who went 11 for 14 from the field and 4 for 5 from 3-point range. He added five rebounds, five assists, four steals
Pima started the game on a 27-2 run and scored 96 points in the first half. The Aztecs had a stretch of outscoring Park 45-2 in the second half.
Sophomore Ky Green finished with 24 points on 12-for-14 shooting from the field with nine rebounds and three assists. Sophomore Isaac Johnson added 23 points as he was 11 for 14 from the field with nine rebounds, four assists and six steals.
Sophomore Brock Mendoza made all 10 of his shots from the field and finished with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Sophomore Taevean Famutimi-Brown posted 17 points on 8-for 10 shooting while freshmen Rowan McKenzie and Isaiah Hill each had 13 points. Hill also posted six rebounds, six assists and eight steals.
Freshman Drew Hall contributed with 12 points on 5-for-5 shooting and freshman Gerron Graham had a double-double of 10 points and 16 assists.
The Aztecs shot 78 for 102 (76.5 percent) and had 57 assists and 33 steals.
The Aztecs continue their non-conference schedule when they host Benedictine University Mesa JV on Friday at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
