
The Pima Community College women’s track & field team competed in its first meet of the 2026 Indoor Season on Friday and Saturday hosting the Jim Mielke Multi’s and the Al Shirley Invitational at the West Campus Aztec Track.
The Aztecs came away with two NJCAA Division I national qualifiers and some Pima school history top 10 marks.
Sophomore Hannah Droeg took first place in the Pentathlon finishing with 3,211 points and moving into the third spot in school history. She took first place in the 60-meter hurdles (9.39), High Jump (1.48 meters) and the Shot Put (10.27 meters). She took second place in the Long Jump and the 800 meters.
Sophomore Layla Konski (Ironwood Ridge) earned second place with 2,917 points as she moved up to seventh all-time in school history. She took first place in the Long Jump (5.19 meters).
Freshman Kymia Bridgett earned a national qualifying mark in the Triple Jump as she took first place with a jump of 12.03 meters (39-feet, 5.50-inches) on her second attempt. She is third all-time in school history.
Freshman Tyra Starkey tied for second place in the Pole Vault and earned her qualifier with a vault of 3.05 meters (10-0) on her first attempt. She took the sixth spot in school history.
The Aztecs will next compete at the PVCC Indoor Invitational on Saturday at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix.
