
The Pima Community College men’s track & field team opened the 2026 Indoor Season on Friday and Saturday hosting the Jim Mielke Multi’s and the Al Shirley Invitational at the West Campus Aztec Track.
The Aztecs secured four NJCAA Division I national qualifying marks and set one new Pima school record.
Sophomore Taylor Brown broke the school record in the 400-meter dash as he took first place with a time of 47.02 seconds, setting an Indoor and Outdoor national qualifying time. The previous record was held by Tristan Spalding at 47.83 in 2023. Brown broke the 200- and 400-meter dash Outdoor season records in 2025 giving him three school records in his career.
Sophomore Ketch Sulpizio moved into the second spot in school history as he took second place in the Pole Vault with a mark of 4.63 meters (15-feet, 2.25-inches) earning a national qualifier. He cleared the vault on his second attempt. Sulpizio matched the Outdoor record last season at 4.90 meters (16-0.75).
Sophomore Cedric Cade took first place in the Heptathlon with a total of 4,962 points, which moved him into the second spot in school history. He took first place in the 60-meter dash (7.15), Long Jump (7.07 meters) and High Jump (1.96 meters).
Freshman Noah Brosier set a personal-record and earned a national qualifying mark in the Long Jump. He finished with a jump of 7.28 meters (23-10.50) on his first attempt and moved into the sixth spot in school history.
Freshman Marshall Knox Jr. earned his national qualifier in the Triple Jump as he took first place with a mark of 14.52 meters (47-7.75). He moved into the top 10 in Pima school history.
The Aztecs will next compete at the PVCC Indoor Invitational on Saturday at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix.
