Former Sunnyside wrestling standouts Sergio Vega and Anthony Echemendia faced off at the Big 12 championships on Saturday and Vega came out on top in the 141 Division in a 2-1 ride-out match.
Former Ironwood Ridge swim standout Carter Dooling added another NCAA cut on Saturday at a “last-chance meet” prior to the CSCAA National Invitational Championships and NCAA Championships. The GCU senior swam the 100 Breast in 52.37 seconds, just under the NCAA cut of 52.58 seconds. He previously qualified in the 200 Breast at the Big West championships.
